About Our Mascot

Sophie Amamiya is the official name for the mascot of Rainy Day Anime. Her name is a reflection of the east meets west nature of Rainy Day Anime. Sophie is a name of French, Greek origin meaning “wisdom”, and Amamiya is from the Japanese characters  雨 (ama) meaning “rain” and 宮 (miya) meaning “temple, shrine, palace”.

Her classic look is of a young woman/older girl with green hair in low ponytails, fair skin, purple eyes, yellow umbrella, and a yellow dress with pink accents. Her face contains an expression of excitement with childlike wonder.

To submit your own fan art email rizzo@rainydayanime.com. Your artwork may be posted online and in our store and/or event space. 

We also may want to use it in promotional materials including advertisements and giveaway Items like stickers. Going forward we will try to reach out to make sure it’s ok with the artist first, especially if the art would be altered in any way.
